Acticoat is a non-adherent antimicrobial barrier dressing that reduces the risk of infection in wounds. Acticoat has 3 layers: an absorbent inner layer between outer layers of silver coated polyethylene net. The silver protects the wound from bacterial contamination while the inner layer helps maintain the moist environment optimal for wound healing. It is effective for a minimum of 3 days of antimicrobial activity.

Acticoat consists of five layers: two layers of an absorbent inner layer between three layers of silver coated polyethylene net which is effective for a minimum of 7 days of antimicrobial activity.
